Terms & Conditions

Hi there, thanks so much for your interest in VeCakes.

 

Please have a quick read through this page before ordering as payment is confirmation that you have accepted these terms and conditions.

From time to time, I update these terms, so please do read before ordering.

1. ORDERING & PAYMENTS

To order or make an enquiry, please complete the ‘Place an Order’ form on the website. Once your message has been received, I will contact you to check the details and arrange payment.

​

Orders are not confirmed until payment is received in full.

​

Payment can be made via bank transfer and details will be sent to you once your order has been accepted.  


2. FOOD ALLERGIES

 

VeCakes is NOT an allergen-free kitchen. I operate from a domestic kitchen where allergens including Cereals containing Gluten, Tree Nuts, Peanuts, Soya, Sesame​, Milk, Eggs and Fish may be used. I cannot guarantee that my cakes are free from ingredients that may affect those with food allergies of any kind. 

​

Any allergies must be declared at the time of placing your order. Never assume allergens won't be present in a particular cake or icing or topping. See ingredients and allergens in my cakes here.


Please note that some food colourings may have an effect on behaviour in children. The food colourings I use and their ingredients can be viewed here.
 

3. COLLECTION FROM WV11 

All orders are collection from Wednesfield, Wolverhampton. 

​

The collection address will be provided on your order confirmation, along with your collection date and time slot. Please be prompt for collection.

 

The following collection days and time slots are available:

  • Monday - Friday: 10am - 10.30am or 5pm - 5.30pm

  • Saturday: 10am – 10.30am

​

I may be able to offer alternative collection times and days by agreement.

​

Failure to collect your order 
Please collect your order at the agreed date / time. 


If there are unforeseen circumstances and you are unable to collect at the agreed time, notify me as soon as possible so that we can re-arrange. This may result in a delay in your order collection.


If no communication is received from you on the collection date, I reserve the right to sell your order.
 
4. TRANSPORTING YOUR ORDER

Please DO NOT place cupcake boxes or bouquets on a seat in the car. Seats are slanted and can damage your cakes. Cakes should be placed either in the boot or the foot well of the car preferably on a non-slip mat. Extra care should be taken when driving as some elements may be delicate. I cannot take any responsibility for damage to cakes once collected.

 
5. STORAGE

All cakes, cupcake bouquets and cupcake boxes should be placed on a flat surface. They should be kept out of direct sunlight in a dry and cool area. Refrigerating cakes is not necessary, except on very hot days and cakes should be placed in an air tight container. 

 

Cupcakes in bouquets can be removed and placed in an air tight container.

 

Best enjoyed within three days of collection.

 
6. CHANGES TO YOUR ORDER

Sometimes situations occur which can result in you wanting to change your order. Please contact me as early as possible to ensure any changes can be made, generally one week before your collection date.  
 

7. NON-EDIBLE ITEMS

If you have requested non-edible items e.g. acrylic toppers, it is your responsibility to ensure these are removed before consumption. These are not toys and should not be given to children.


8. COLOURS AND DESIGN

I want you to be delighted with your VeCakes order so if you have ideas and preferences for colours please let me know.

In respect of food colourings and icings, I cannot guarantee exact matches as shading can vary depending on the weather and stock availability. Packaging may also vary depending on availability.

​

In terms of floral designs, I use my creative licence to choose which flowers designs work well together. Rest assured I want you to be happy so will always do my best for you.

​

It is not possible for me to exactly replicate an order that I have previously done, including those in my gallery, or exactly replicate designs or colours supplied by customers. All photos and descriptions featured in my online and promotional materials are for guidance purposes only. Each cupcake is handmade and accordingly there will be variations in appearance. 

​

9. PHOTOGRAPHY

I always take photographs of the cakes prior to collection and reserve the right to use any photographs for promotion purposes without compensation to you.


10. CANCELLATION POLICY

 

Cancellation by the customer: 

​

More than 14 days notice:
A full refund will be given if you need to cancel your order 14 days or more from the agreed collection date. 

 

Less than 14 days:
Orders cancelled less than 14 days of the agreed collection date are non-refundable and may be transferred to another date at my discretion.

​

5 days or less:
Orders cancelled within 5 days of the collection date are non-refundable and non-transferable.  

​

Cancellation by VeCakes 
Sometimes there are circumstances beyond my control which mean I cannot fulfil your order. These include, but not limited to, fire, flood, explosion, accident, adverse weather conditions, traffic congestion, mechanical breakdown, obstruction of any private or public highway, riot, government act, act of war, terrorism, act of God, or from any industrial dispute or strike whatsoever. A full refund will be provided.

In the event of exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness, I will give as much notice as possible if I am unable to fulfil your order. I will endeavour to find someone else who can produce your order and will refund you in full.

​

Changing your collection date
In the event that you wish to change your collection date, let me know as soon as possible. Your previous booking will be considered cancelled will be subject to the cancellation policy above and a new booking will be placed for the new date. 


11. COMPLAINTS

If you are not happy please ensure you make this known when collecting your order. This gives me the opportunity to correct any problems. I am not responsible for mistakes made by the customer i.e. incorrect collection date / incorrect choice of cake / failure to notify of allergens.

If for some reason you are not entirely satisfied with my cakes, please notify me as soon as possible. Cakes must be returned to me within 24 hours to ensure I am able to fairly assess the nature of the complaint. The cake must have been stored at the correct temperature, out of the sun and away from damp conditions or heat. 

​

12. GIFT VOUCHERS

The gift voucher is non refundable and can not be exchanged for cash. 

​

The voucher will expire after 12 months of purchase. Unused values will not be refunded after the expiry date  

​

Please allow up to 48 hours for gift voucher to be emailed. 

​

If your purchase exceeds the amount of the gift voucher, the excess must be paid.
