Ideally, as much notice as possible - especially for large orders. For small orders, a week's notice is usually not a problem.

I offer a collection service. Orders must be collected from my home address in Wolverhampton. So that I can fulfil my orders, I offer a limited number of collection days / times. See below for details.

Occasionally, I am able to offer deliver for customers who are ordering a surprise for someone who lives close to me. Delivery charge applies.

FOR ORDER ENQUIRIES

I usually respond to messages on the same day.

What is the difference between your categories of bouquets?

I offer three categories for cupcake bouquets - Classic, Deluxe and Luxury - which are priced according to the intricacy of the buttercream flowers.

So for example:

  • 'Classic' e.g. large petal roses, rosettes, tulips, hydrangeas, alliums, daisies, anemone, carnations

  • 'Deluxe' e.g. sunflowers, mini roses with buds or blossom, chrysanthemums, delicate large petal roses, lotus, camilla, zinna, large peonies, dahlias, mini peonies with buds.

  • 'Luxury' e.g. David Austin Roses, gerberas, proteas, ranunculus, delicate mini roses with buds, stocks, mini gardens.

Please note: I may choose to feature flowers from across categories depending on what works best for the overall arrangement. Be assured, the quality is the same whichever price range you select.

What are vegan cakes made of?

We all know a basic sponge cake recipe consists of sugar, flour, eggs and butter. Vegan cakes don't use dairy, eggs or any animal products, so what is used instead? I substitute the eggs for oat milk and the butter for vegetable oil. Vegetable oil is not an unusual ingredient in cakes. Did you know most carrot and chocolate cake recipes use oil for moisture? But it's the magic created by adding a little bit of bicarbonate of soda and apple cider vinegar (no, you can't taste the vinegar) which makes my cakes extra light and fluffy.

Do you offer allergen free cakes?

I operate from a domestic kitchen where a number of allergens including nuts, peanuts, cereals containing gluten, soya, fish, milk and eggs may be present. Even though I take great care to reduce the risk of cross contamination, there is always a risk.

I can offer Gluten Free Vanilla Cupcakes. Please provide as much notice as possible for your order.

Do you make vegan birthday cakes?

I offer small celebration cakes - 4 inch, 6 inch and 8 inch cakes. I also offer traybakes and loaf cakes. Gluten Free options available. Some of my customers buy bouquets instead of large cakes. They can be more affordable and cupcakes are much easier to distribute especially if you're going for a restaurant meal.

What training have you had?

I am a self taught baker. I've learned how to pipe buttercream flowers from the talented Jane Taylor Cake Courses, a pioneer in this cake artistry. I am also inspired by real flowers and by the talented online community of bakers who are so supportive of one another. VeCakes is registered with Wolverhampton Council and holds a 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating. I am fully insured as a cake maker and decorator and I've completed the necessary food safety and allergen training.
